P2P troubleshoot on Dahua DVR/NVR
- Make sure the cabling is okay. Check the connection (cable) from the NVR to the router, ensure that there’s no bad cable or loose connection.
- Make sure you have a stable internet service.
- Check if the device’s P2P function is enabled or not. Go to the Main menu > Setting >Network > P2P.
Untick and tick it again, save the settings and wait if the P2P shows up online. Sometimes you may need to wait 1-3 minutes.
- Make sure that the IP address of the recorder is set on DHCP mode. To enable DHCP go to the Main Menu > Setup > Network > TCP/IP and tick the DHCP (as shown below). On the Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4. Save the settings.
- Check the information entered on the gDMSS/iDMSS app, make sure the username and password is typed in correctly. Consult this article: How to view Dahua cameras on phone via P2P.
- Reboot the NVR/DVR and check again.
- Prefferd Dns same as your Default Gateway enter save
- In some cases the firmware on the recorder needs to be updated. Get the latest firmware and update the software on your recorder
